We live in times of booming media advertisement. The measure of success has been reduced to how wide the sound of the trumpet for one’s next steps can stretch. For starters, why can’t one’s kitchen be occupied by the few that have a role to play as the rest wait at the serving table! We don’t have to lose or raise their appetite before the final meal is served.
Dear scholars! It is very true you scored first class in your first year, you still have more years to defend that first-class score. Keep it to yourself as inner motivation for hard work till your final year, final semester.
Just because someone is not displaying their next move does not necessarily mean that they are not moving. Instead, it displays a sense of maturity that they know what to share, to who, and when to share their next moves. When we solely depend on other people to build us up, we equally give them the power to break us down. When we build in silence even the enemies of progress cannot find what to attack.
A Seed grows with no sound, but a tree falls with huge noise. Destructive work is noisy, constructive work is moderately silent. A brick laid on another makes no noise. Before, you trumpet your success story; please allow the mixture of cement, water and sand to compact together as you build your success ladder.
After the maiden meeting with the girl he had high hopes in and exchanging contacts, my neighbor Charlie couldn’t hold his excitement any further. He had to break half-baked news to his “social media In-laws”. Charlie was a man of faith, he had lived to believe that confession is possession; sadly he got to learn that he was quick to confess possession in someone’s territory.
There is that excitement that comes when your seeds begin germinating; the temptation is high to begin calculating the gains to come out of the harvest and even to begin planning on what to spend on after selling off that produce. Wait a minute, the seeds have just germinated, and it is still too early, anything can happen between germination and harvesting stage. Wait to celebrate that premature success, keep taking good care of your garden.
Proverbs 17:27; “The One who knows much says little, an understanding person remains calm”. It is a clever move to hold certain excitement, keep calm and share out the news consciously.
Why seek validation from individuals who are not valid yet? Often times we get lost in trying to seek everyone’s approval and validation, only to realize that each one of us has their own path to walk, their own race to run. We rob ourselves of the joy and look desperate in trying to search for acceptance in the wrong places.
We don’t have to open up for the attention, opinions, and expectations of less interested parties. Chances are high that they will distort and dilute your flow line. It is important to identify who to keep you accountable as we build from one phase to another.
A life that is progressing comes with leaps of imagination and dreams. The possibility of having a dream come true makes life so interesting. Dreaming is part of planning yet still planning in private is not any crime. A measured silence is a prelude to greatness. Trumpeting the achievements of every brick laid is an invitation to destruction. Choose not to celebrate premature success.
