    The UCU Lady Cardinals squad set to compete in the Fufa Women’s Super league for this season has 17 players. The new squad includes new signings, which the team believes will work to their favour.

    “The squad has not changed much and we know almost how each other plays and that is a good thing for us as a team,” said, Hasifa Nassuna, the team captain. “And the new signings the coach has added on the squad this season will provide a different dimension on how we play as a team, which is a good thing for us,” she added.

    The players include;

    • Goalkeepers; Ruth Aturo and Hadijah Nalongo
    • Defenders; Shadia Nankya, Phoebe Banura, Annet Nakirijja, Cissy Nakate, Harriet Muwugumya, Mercy Nabulobi
    • Midfielders; Catherine Nakiride, Joan Kwagala, Jauharah Nabagala, Teddy Najjuma, Collines Ahumuza
    • Attackers; Hasifa Nassuna, Jackeline Nakasi, Apio Faith, Sandra Kisakye
    • Officials; Jimmy Mwera, head coach, Simon Asiimwe Assistant Coach, Sharon Kizza Achieng Asst Female Coach, and Andrew Malinga as the first aid officer.

    All the games are to be played at FUFA Technical Centre Njeru, where the former champions of Women’s football in Uganda traveled to on April 25, to train ahead of the games that commenced yesterday, April 27.
