Uganda Christian University’s (UCU) men’s volleyball team, UCU Doves returned to winning ways with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Prisons Volleyball Club on November 30 in the National Volleyball League Serie A.
The match, held at Old Kampala Arena, saw UCU display grit and determination, starting with a nail-biting first set that ended 28-26 in favor of the Doves.
Building on that momentum, UCU dominated the second set with a convincing 25-18 win.
The third set, however, proved to be a tense battle as both sides fought hard, but UCU ultimately prevailed 29-27 to seal their victory in straight sets.
This result was a much-needed boost for the Doves, who were coming off a tough 3-0 loss to Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) in their previous match.
A victory for Doves not only lifts their spirits but also strengthens their position in the competitive Serie A standings as they aim for a podium finish in the first round of the league.
Coach Juma Osunge and team captain Mark Omara Ochan will look to build on this momentum as the Doves prepare for their next challenge against Sport-S, one of the league’s formidable sides.
The upcoming fixture will be crucial in determining whether UCU can establish themselves as serious contenders in the league’s first round.
