This is the digital news site of the Uganda Christian University community newspaper, "The Standard". The Standard newspaper was established in May 2007 under, formerly Department, but now School of Journalism, Media & Communication.

While  the rest of her classmates sought for internship placements outside, Olivia Kamusiime a   third year student pursuing Bachelor of mass Communication, couldn’t ignore an opportunity to join Uganda Christian University (UCU) newspaper The Standard when the opportunity availed itself.

Uganda Christian University (UCU), have formerly received the Ankrah foundation premises.  The handover postdates a lease agreement signed earlier in November 2021, between UCU and Ankrah Foundation Limited, currently headed by  Prof. Eleanor Maxine Ankrah, who is the Managing Director of the Foundation.

 The Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of academics  {DVC Academics) Rev Assoc. Prof. John Kitayimbwa has called for perseverance among leaders since leadership requires it. He said this at the Guild mentorship training organized by the  Ruth Nkoyoyo Wellness Centre that started off on the 23rd of February 2022  at the ICMI building. The training was attended by the Guild official (mentees) and UCU staff {mentors}.

Prof. Ripley Lawrence Smith, a visiting professor at Uganda Christian University [UCU] ‘s School of Journalism, Media and Communication  has  advised  journalism students  to stick to the elements of good storytelling in the wake of changing technology and journalism practices :   “when you go out in the field  the software will change but what will still remain  are the elements of good storytelling no matter what channel you talking to.”
