Result: UCU Canons 69–65, Bugema University

The UCU Canons secured a 69-63 victory against Bugema University in the ongoing 2023 AUUS Games at the main basketball court on Sunday.

The tournament kicked off today, drawing a big crowd that enjoyed Varsity games.

After a short delay in tip-off due to paperwork and a number of technical issues, real business kicked in at around 10:00 a.m.

UCU was off to a slow start, and at halftime, they were trailing by 12 points (31-19).

As both sides were preparing to get into the third quarter of the game, the heavens opened and the court was unplayable, delaying the restart.

However, the weather got back to normal, and at the end of the fourth quarter, the game was held at 59-59, and overtime had to separate the two sides.

Nicholas Natuhereza promised a better show in the next game, noting that his troops started on a slow note.

“We hope for a better performance in the next game as we take on Makerere. We had a slow start, and it nearly cost us, but I am glad the boys put in a shift and registered a victory,” he said.
