Elections are the cornerstone of representation. Yet, many young people have grown disillusioned, believing their single vote makes no difference.
As the elections for the Guild President and Members of Parliament heat up at Uganda Christian University, we sought to find out if students plan to vote for representatives.
Five years down the road and we are back at it again—the campaigns, the noise, the different political party primaries (kamyufu), the endless halt in the traffic, the debates and divisions among people, the rise in violence and so much yet to unfold.
His excellence Timothy Ddumba, UCU guild president, took an oath to uphold the guild constitution and serve the university and student community. UCU students have expressed their hopes for the incoming guild government.
We thank God that our children are reporting back to school next week. There are some schools that have already reported, but the majority of schools have been waiting for the official date.
On January 9th, 2023, at 1:54 a.m., a shocking video of teenage girls beating and flogging a friend went viral. The girls screamed “man snatcher” while pulling her braids, pouring soapy water on her, and beating their undressed friend on the floor outside the house in the video.
Setting targets is one way to keep yourself focused on what you aim to achieve. You could have had targets or set goals for 2022, some of which were successful and some of which were not. A new year means another chance to achieve your life goals. Your targets should reflect who you are, what you live for, what you intend to accomplish this year, and where you plan to be.
There has been a rampant rage of fires that have destroyed educational institutions, particularly secondary and primary schools.
It is good news to have all our children back home from school. I congratulate the candidates at all levels who completed their final exams. I also congratulate children who were not candidates upon finishing the year and for getting promoted to other classes.
