This decision halted Uganda Christian University’s (UCU) Easter semester, thrusting the institution into uncharted waters. As the pandemic unfolded, UCU’s response and subsequent adaptations shaped its trajectory.
Dr. Mulindwa explained that malaria is caused by the plasmodium parasite and spreads through the bites of an infected female anopheles mosquito.
The Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. Gerald Tumusiime, stated that more people are now applying to be admitted to the institution’s medicine and dentistry programmes.
“We encourage students and staff to use insecticide-treated mosquito nets, apply mosquito repellents, wear long-sleeved clothing to prevent mosquito bites, and ensure proper sanitation to eliminate breeding grounds for mosquitoes,”
The newly appointed professor says that as an academic who does a lot of work in media development, a lot of her research energy is going towards understanding the media challenges such as regulation issues, changing media, content, and audiences.
