    Christians implored to repent

Every Christian is urged to repentance.

    By Yasiri J. Kasango

The Most Rev. Dr. Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, the archbishop of the Church of Uganda, who also doubles as the chancellor of Uganda Christian University (UCU), has told Britians to repent of their sins. He (Kaziimba) said this during the Trinity semester’s mission week community worship.

He said that the congregation for the mission week is significant in the growth of a Christian.

“It is meant to bring us on board with renewal of our spiritual lives, re-commitment, refreshment, reformation, refurbishing our lives, rejuvenation, refocus, and renew our lives in Christ,” said Kaziimba.

He went ahead to encourage Christians to use this mission week to repent. He added that it is started in Romans 6:23, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Therefore, it is important to repent of sins.

The archbishop reiterated God’s creation of people to proclaim His name and live a Godly, satisfying life.

“Right from the beginning of creation, God created humanity with the purpose of having life to its fullest.” Therefore, God’s love for humans is sufficient, “said Kaziimba.

The archbishop appreciated the chaplaincy for carrying on with the mission week. The mission week is fundamental in strengthening the university’s core of Christ-centeredness. The archbishop re-echoed the significance of mission week.

He commended the UCU administrators, teaching and non-teaching staff, and the entire student body for the work they are doing at the university.

“Let me appreciate the chaplaincy for the great work you are doing to ensure that everyone is ministered to,” said Kaziimba.

Rev. Canon. Engineer Paul Waswa was excited by the archbishop’s visit to the university during this semester’s mission week.

“His (Kaziimba’s) visit is an assurance to the chaplaincy and it is an affirmation of the mission week,” said Waswa.
