Nestled among Uganda’s lush greenery, Uganda Christian University (UCU) stands out as one of the country’s most beautiful campuses. This serene beauty owes much to the hard work of the women at 7 Star Cleaning Company.

As you stroll through UCU’s grounds, you can’t help but notice how neat everything looks.

From the tidy lawns to the clean walkways, every part of UCU shines with a sense of order and tranquility, all thanks to the dedication of the women from 7 Star Cleaning Company.

These women take on the huge task of keeping UCU’s appearance impeccable.

Their work goes beyond just the outside areas. They also take care of the classrooms, making sure they are fresh and tidy for students and teachers alike. And let’s not forget the bathrooms and toilets; they make sure they’re spotless too, because every detail matters.

UCU’s Vice Chancellor, Assoc. Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi, is grateful for their hard work. “We owe a thank you to 7 Star Cleaning Company,” he said during the recently concluded meeting with the bishops of the Global South Fellowship of Anglicans. “Their dedication ensures that UCU remains a place of beauty and inspiration for everyone.”

As UCU continues to shine as a symbol of academic excellence and natural beauty, it’s important to recognize the vital role played by the women from 7 Star Cleaning Company.

Their dedication and hard work ensure that UCU remains a welcoming and inviting place for all who visit.

Namulwana Jascent, the assistant senior supervisor, appreciates her staff for the good work done but also continues to urge them to work hard because this is the work that pays them. “It is our work to keep UCU clean, not only because this institution has been good to us, but because we are just doing our part of the bargain,” Jascent said.

Having graduated with a bachelor’s degree herself in Development Studies at Kyambogo University,Jascent advises young women not to undermine jobs just because they feel like they are for the “uneducated.”

“I have been able to partly pay school fees for my little girl and also take care of myself through working here,” Nanziri Asiya said.

Alex Jonathan Kigozi appreciates the women he works with, and he says he has also been able to start farming with the money he earns from working for UCU. This makes it easy for him to handle his tasks because he has been able to achieve the unthinkable by working for UCU.

When asked about the challenges they face, most of them responded with no complaints, and one of them emphasized that “work will always have its challenges, but it’s up to you to figure it out and get used.”

At UCU, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to these wonderful women. Their efforts don’t go unnoticed, and they are truly appreciated by both the university and the student community at large. Thank you for all that you do to keep UCU gleaming.
