Makerere 0-0 UCU Lady Cardinals
UCU Lady Cardinals held Makerere in a goalless draw in the FUFA Women Super League at the Tear Gas Arena.
Right from the opening minutes, it was a fair share of possession as none of the sides took full charge of the game.
Six minutes to the break, the hosts got a chance to open the scoring through Daphine Nalubowa but her effort in front of goal failed to get on target.
At halftime, it was goalless as the hosts were starting to knock on the door but the visitors’ backline stood tall and calm.
In the 48th minute, She Makerere’s custodian was involved in a head collision and was rushed to the hospital for quick attention.
Seven minutes later, Betinah Nagujja was sent off after a double retaliation on quick footed forward Sandra Kisakye.
With a man less, the Lady Cardinals took full charge of the proceedings but were not lethal enough in front of goal.
At the end of the game, eachthe team walked away with a point and a clean sheet.
The Lady Cardinals are fourth on the log with 13 points while Makerere University WFC is eighth on the 10-team log after playing 11 games in the ongoing campaign.
