The Maroons and Lady Cardinals played to a goalless draw in the FUFA Women Super League at the Prison Grounds, Luzira, on Sunday.
Both sides failed to find the back of the net after playing 90 minutes of entertaining action in Luzira.
The hosts kicked off with a much-needed pace, looking for the early lead, but the Lady Cardinals were very organised at the back.
In the 22nd minute, Lillian Kasuubo’s shot went straight into Lady Cardinals goalkeeper Hadijah Nalongo’s palms.
Ten minutes later, the Maroons suffered a huge blow after goalkeeper Proscovia Adong was stretched off the field of play and replaced with Esther Akujo.
The first stanza came to an end after 45 minutes of action, but none of the sides had found the back of the net.
A minute into the second stanza, Kasuubo missed a glorious chance, failing to place the hosts in front of the game.
The Maroons had another chance after they introduced Winnie Kyomugisha to replace Racheal Nassimbwa.
The hosts failed to pick up maximum points in the third game in a row, while the Lady Cardinals winning run was brought to a halt.
The Maroons remain in third place on the log with 13 points, while the Lady Cardinals are fifth with a point less.
