As we draw closer to the Christmas season, a number of movies and series that tell the story of the merry season have been released. At one moment, it feels like Christmas in November, especially on Netflix.

How to ruin Christmas, a Burnt Onion Productions is one of the network’s sequels that has drawn many requests from viewers who want to know what happens between the two families involved in the series, namely the Sello and Twala families.

Starting with season one, dubbed “The Wedding,” we learn that the bride, Beauty Sello (Thando Thabethe), wants her father to be a part of her wedding, but everything changes when she and her sister, Tumi Sello (Busi Lurayi), discover that they have different fathers and that her sister has been hiding her pregnancy from her husband and family. This is mainly because her husband’s family would accept them to get married if they found out about her little secret, which is not accepted. Tumi later has to find a way to turn this around and have her sister get married.

From this season, we head to the next, dubbed “The Funeral.” In this, the Twala family faces a tragic moment when Gogo Twala (grandmother) dies due to cancer. Right then is when chaos comes in when deciding when, how, and where to bury her, bearing in mind that all this is to happen on Christmas day. Still in the same season, Tumi Sello finds out she is going to be a stepmother, and her boyfriend is preparing to propose to her.

After the two chaotic Christmases, season three takes us to the baby shower as Sbu Twala (Sandile Mahlangu) and Beauty welcome their first baby after they lost their son the previous year. But will the Sello and Twala families put aside their differences and become one family for this reason? Let’s wait and see what unfolds in the new season.
