Jonathan Mbabazi a graduate with first class honours degree in business administration from school of business at Uganda Christian University. The 29 year old used to sell charcoal and rear pigs in order to raise tuition.
Jonathan didn’t only face a challenge in paying tuition, however, he also found it hard to buy notes. His passion for education he never up. He persevered on with academics. He is glad to have successfully completed his bachelors in business administrations.
He wanted to do medicine but due to financial constraints he ended up doing a degree in business administration.
“if had money do a bachelor in medicine because I wanted to
became a doctor, says Jonathan Mbabazi.
Jonathan joined UCU Kabale collage Masindi in the 2017/2018 academic year. He has been able to complete his studies in 2021. He thanks his friends like Beatrice Katusiime, Enid Tusiime among others who kept him going despite the struggles he has faced during his academic career.
He noted that the emergence of COVID-19 come with challenges to study. He also cited the fact that the take homes were very hard. These exams required concreted and intense reading.
“You needed to read and do a lot of research to pass Uganda Christian University exams, says Jonathan Mbabazi.
Despite the hard exams, Jonathan has appreciated UCU for the problem solving nature. He has noted the fact that UCU has continued to teach during the pandemic. The closure of schools by the government on March 20TH 2020 didn’t affect students at UCU. The university taught through eLearning.
He went ahead to say that he has loved UCU’s curriculum. The university incorporated the religious aspect in the teaching. The university has foundation course unit that help shape and morally equip the student to survive in the world.
“I loved the religious aspect and learning the bible at UCU,” says Jonathan Mbabazi.
Jonathan has vowed to fight unemployment through starting uppp a business. He hopes that business will employ a number of people. He will also continue teaching agriculture . This help to eradicate poverty among his people.
BACKGROUND
Jonathan Mbabazi is a 3rd born among 11 children. They were born to Moses Byaruhunga and Jackline Kugonza. He was born in western Uganda 176.469 miles from the capital city Kampala in the district of Buliisa. He grew up from Kituhara cell, westerner ward, Buliisa town council Buliisa district.
He went to Kibengeya primary school from 1999 to 2005, in Kigorobya Hoima district for his primary level. He joined Mukitale development foundation secondary school in Biiso Buliisa district for his ordinary level between 2006 and 2009. He then joined Premier secondary school Hoima from 2010 to 2011 for his advanced level.
He went ahead to pursue a diploma in business studies and specialised in accounting from the Uganda collage of commerce. He excelled with first class honours in diploma in business studies. He then joined Uganda Christian University to study a bachelor’s degree in business administration. While studying at UCU he was a class representative for bachelors of business administration.
Jonathan is a proud father of two daughters and a husband. He is married to Charity Jovia Kobusingye. He so far has two children that is Smiles, and Shanice Mbabazi.
