Uganda Christian University (UCU) has once again emerged as the overall winner of the 16th National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) Exhibition held at Gulu University.
UCU clinched the top position in the Public Private Chartered Universities category.
“We thank God for this achievement. I want to appreciate the entire team, from students to staff and the organising committee, who have put in their time and wisdom,” said Martin Kabanda, the team leader for this year’s exhibition.
In the same category, Mountains of the Moon University, which was last year’s overall winner, emerged as the first runner-up, while Uganda Martyrs University secured third place.
The annual NCHE exhibition brings together universities from across Uganda to showcase research and student-led innovations, with a growing emphasis on commercialization and real-world application.
In recent years, the exhibition has been expanded regionally, with editions held in Mbarara and Mbale to enhance participation and visibility.
This year’s exhibition was held under the theme Harnessing Innovation for Economic Empowerment.
The victory means that UCU has now won the exhibitions six times in the last seven years. Last year in Mbarara, UCU came second.
