Lady Canons 51-59 Dolphins

Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Canons fell 51–59 to JKL Lady Dolphins in Game Two of the National Basketball League semi-finals on Tuesday night at Lugogo Indoor Arena, allowing the defending champions to tie the best-of-five series at 1–1.
After their strong start in Game One, the Lady Canons struggled to find rhythm this time, trailing 15–11 at the end of the first quarter and never fully recovering.
Despite a spirited effort, their shooting woes and turnovers proved costly against an organised JKL side.
Martina Anyango led the charge for UCU with a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Sylvia Nantongo added 12 points.
However, the Mukono side’s 16 turnovers and 5-of-27 shooting from three-point range left them chasing the game throughout.
Brenda Ekone and Hope Akello powered JKL’s response, each scoring 16 points, with Akello adding eight rebounds to steer the Dolphins to victory.
Although the Lady Canons won the rebounding battle 53–42, their missed opportunities down the stretch ensured JKL’s comeback was complete.
The two teams will return to action on Wednesday at Lugogo for Game Three, as the series balance hangs in the air. Meanwhile, the other women’s semi-final between JT Lady Jaguars and Magic Stormers will resume on Friday.
