A passionate desire to be grown and used by God as a servant leader to grow other Christ-centered leaders is the single most important quality in an effective mentor. Whereas it was my desire to be a leader because I never believed in myself and for me to show that I matter, I always stood for positions all the way from primary to my university. The truth is some of the things we do fail in we hardly share; like someone said “we always give the edited version of our testimonies in church” if we are to tell you the whole truth, we could stumble many.

As I joined Honor’s college leadership training in my first year, through a couple of lessons that I undertook, I discovered that even though I had led in many places, my leadership skills were still in “baby class” without the concept of understanding mentorship; credit to the programme coordinator!

So I resolved that I would get a mentor, not because it was mandatory for everyone in the class to have one, but for my own good, I needed someone who would listen to every sort of mistake I had done in my previous leadership life and correct me. Thanks be to God, I landed on one! A top administrator in the university (permit me not to use names here) but am sure after reading through this article he will discover the impact you put on me.

Because of this mentorship programme, I have been able to build trust of operation with the members I work with. Accepting to learn, I am accepted to teach. Understand that the core that will shape your character and attitude in victory is mentorship. For example, while I was a student (studying on sponsorship) I was not worried of tuition, I under looked the cleaners in the university; am not sure how my mentor discovered this in me” the spirit of pride; one day we talked about “never to despise days of humble beginning” when I graduated is when I realized that the cleaner was better than me then, they earned but I was home lacking.

Let me continue from here next time since my words have come to full in relation to the limit I was given. However; I feel fortunate enough to have had these experiences and am now in a position to return the favor to others that are just starting out. Not only is the price right, but your mentorship programme is also providing priceless access to everything that will channel your life to an efficient destiny.
