In an extremely hot basketball game today, the UCU Canons faced off against Nkumba University, with only the fittest advancing to the finals. Nkumba University kicked off with the intensity of rugby and the speed of athletics, setting the stage for an exhilarating matchup.
UCU strategically employed three-pointers, catapulting themselves to the lead with an impressive 19 scores, while Nkumba lagged behind with just 3. The game remained fiercely competitive, testing the endurance of both teams. As the third quarter unfolded, three-pointers became the decisive factor.
The third quarter concluded with UCU leading at 65, leaving Nkumba trailing at 32. The game’s climax saw UCU emerge triumphant with a final score of 90 to Nkumba’s 60. By the end, Nkumba guests had accumulated 4 fouls, while UCU, the hosts, had 2.
UCU Canons, asserting their dominance, have ousted Nkumba University and eagerly anticipate the finals scheduled for tomorrow.
UCU Canons’ Coach Emmanuel Kiguyi credited the victory to the team’s extreme hard work, emphasizing their solid defensive strategies and exceptional shooting skills.
“We played very well, we defended well, and the boys really shot the ball well today,” Kiguyi said.
He attributed their success not only to hard work but also to meticulous preparation throughout the season.
“We prepared better. Throughout the season, we have been working hard, and the boys have been putting in extraordinary effort,” added Kiguyi.
With eyes set on the finals, the UCU Canons gear up to face Ndejje University, while the UCU Angels prepare to battle Victoria University in the netball finals tomorrow.
