SC Villa will be aiming at taking the summit of the log in match day seven of the  Star Times Uganda Premier League (SUPL) 2022/23  campaign.

Villa assistant captain Gift Fred feels the best chance to achieve the feet comes in the game where they will be hosting Wakiso Giants FC at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Friday.

“The team is ready to take on Wakiso Giants. We hope to win that game so that we can take away the top spot,” Gift told SC Villa media shortly after the last meeting on Thursday morning.

“Following our win last week, the team is in high spirit. We have been building behind doors and I feel we have put in the well-deserved efforts hence yearning for victory,” he added.

Coming into this encounter, the Jogoo have a perfect home record having won all the three games at their den. So they will do all it takes the track positive.

Gift stressed the need to be on top of the log saying; “We want to be on top of the table and keep there. That will help us plan for other opponents because to us every game played is like a final.”

“All the played games are past so our attention is on those ahead and that starts tomorrow. We shall do all it takes to get a win so that we get on top of the table,” he concluded.

Jackson Magera’s side is second on the log with 13 points, one behind the table leaders (BUL FC) after playing six games.

Meanwhile Wakiso Giants have 11 points in the fourth position after a 1-1 stalemate against defending champions Vipers SC in a sprinted show on Tuesday.

SC Villa will be without goalkeeper Martin Elungat who is side lined due to a neck injury while Sheif Batte will require a late fitness test to tell his fate.

On the other hand, the Purple Sharks will also miss the services of defender Ambrose Alinda and forward Frank Ssebuufu
