I started doing business with furniture; we would make beds and wardrobes in 2022 during my S6 vacation, though it’s my dads’ business. I branched off from furniture to selling shoe racks (it is what I sell majorly) alongside selling body sprays, perfumes and snacks.

His radiance is hard to miss. Bubbly and so full of life, a young man with dreams the size of a truck. Though Somali by descent, he hasn’t let borders confine his pursuit for knowledge. He has decided to transcend boundaries. 

This insatiable desire to build personal competence has landed him in Mukono and he is upbeat. “Uganda is an organized country, the education system in Uganda is well-developed, and I believed it would provide me with the right skills and knowledge,” he tells me as he smiles.

A third-year law student at Uganda Christian University (UCU), Osbert Alinda, has been arrested .

“Before I came to UCU, I had this image that it was a strict school with tight rules and regulations. My friends even said it was more like boarding school, but I didn’t mind. Deep down, I loved everything about UCU because I wanted to come out as a well-rounded lady—someone of value and substance to society—and I knew I could find that at UCU.

The ruling, delivered on September 29, found that Nassozi’s accountability for the funds was insufficient. The tribunal court ruled that her allowances should be attached  to the University account until further notice. It also stated that Nassozi refunds what she failed to account for. 

“I had lost hope but upon receiving the LDC email, hope has returned and indeed it is a prayer answered for me and everyone else that was waiting. It feels good because I don’t have to worry about not knowing what’s next. I have a plan now of working for three months as I wait for January,”

The Drama and Documentary Course Unit class of 2024, at the School of Journalism, Media and Communication at Uganda Christian University (UCU), is set to premiere a new film on October 11, 2024 titled After the Tent. The film has been directed by Winter Walter Muganzi and produced by Ananda Daphin Tayebwa. The premiere which is free will take place at Nkyoyoyo at the university premises from 6pm to 9pm.
