A few weeks ago, Kampala Queens officially confirmed the signing of former UCU Lady Cardinals forward Hasifah Nassuna.

Kampala Queens posted on its Facebook page confirming Nassuna’s move. “Finally, the wait is over. She’s the latest queen in the palace.” She joined the club on a two-year deal. Nasuuna took to Twitter on Sunday, October 2nd, to bid farewell to her former teammates at Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Cardinals.

“It’s been five years since I joined this family; it’s time to bid farewell and have this moment to thank you for all the knowledge and value you have spent on me as  player,” Nasuuna wrote .

Last season, Nassuna reached 100 league goals, a milestone she feels good about.

“… reaching my 100 league goals milestone and other achievements, it feels good and nice that I was part of the club’s history and to achieve all the trophies as a cardinal player,” Nassuna added.

Arguably Uganda’s greatest of all time (G O.A.T) in Ugandan women’s football, Nassuna is no doubt a great addition to the Kampala Queens, who are seeking to win their first-ever league title.

The playmaker has featured for UCU Lady Cardinals since 2017, helping them win the FUFA Women’s Elite League and the FUFA Women’s Cup. Prior to joining the Lady Cardinals, Nassuna played at Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, winning three successive league titles.

She now becomes the latest addition to Kampala Queens after Sumaya Komuntale, Teddy Najjuma, Asia Nakibuuka, goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro, Elizabeth Nakigozi, and Grace Aluka.

Kampala Queens started with a 5-0 thumping of newly promoted side Asubo Gafford in their first game of the season played at the IUIU Kabojja Grounds .
