To commemorate its 25th anniversary, James Cameron’s multi-Academy Award-winning film “Titanic” will be re-released in 3D, 4K HDR, and high-frame rate. The film is headed by Oscar winners Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

Cameron, who is the director and writer for this film, bases it on his interest in shipwrecks. He says that with a love story that intersperses human loss, he is able to portray the emotional impact of the disaster.

The film is a 1997 American epic romantic disaster based on the events of the RMS Titanic ship’s sinking with two love birds, Rose (Kate Winslet) and Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio), who are from different social classes but end up falling in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage.

Rose DeWitt Bukater, a 17-year-old married to a wealthy man, Calendon “Cal” Hockley, and her widowed mother Ruth board the Titanic, unaware of what fate awaits them. Her mother, however, believes that her daughter’s marriage to the wealthy man may solve the family’s financial problems and help them maintain their upper-class status.

On the other hand, Jack Dawson is a poor young artist who has won a third-class Titanic ticket during a poker game. When the ship sets sail,  Rose, who is upset about her loveless engagement, heads over to the stern railing with the intention of jumping overboard. It is at this moment that Jack appears and persuades her to get back on the deck. This is where their love story begins.

Set to be re-released on February 10, 2023, the film creates nostalgia for its audience and sets them on alert for the 3D version.
