Ndejje Angels secured a 76-72 victory against the UCU Canons in the National Basketball League at the Lugogo Arena on Wednesday evening.

The Angels pulled off a stunning show, handing the Canons their second loss on a bounce and fourth of the ongoing campaign.

The Angels held on even after the ejection of their head coach, John Omondi. Without his presence on the bench, the boys kept fighting till the last minute.

The Angels opened a six-point (24-18) lead at the end of the first period due to the hard work shown right away.

Going into the long break, the Angels posted a one-point (41–40) lead as the Canons were the better side in the second period.

Coming from the locker rooms, the Angels regrouped and limited the Canons to only nine points, and the Angels opened an eight-point lead before the final period.

It was a nail-biting fourth quarter as the game was tied three times, but still, the Angels came out of the kiln victorious on the day.

Peter Sifuma scored a game-high 27 points and pulled down 21 rebounds before Kevin Kasobya added 12 points.

For the Angels, Christian Ndibu posted a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds before James Obrack and Jonathan Oketch dropped 15 and 13 points, respectively.
