In a pulsating volleyball game, the UCU Doves demolished Kampala University, winning all three sets in today’s opener. The two sides took themselves toe to toe through the first quarter and were separated by a two-point margin by the end of the quarter, which the Doves cliched at 26 to 24 points.
The second set was no different from the first, as both teams brought great energy into the game. The Doves still managed to clinch the set, 25 points to 22.
A motivated KU side sought to change the balance of power and force an extra game with a win, but the Doves always had the cutting edge. The latter sealed the deal with 25 to 20 points on the opposition end.
The Doves had been largely restive in their last game of play against Soroti University, as they dominated the show with a distinct flick and flair. Even the coach had to rest some of his players, and he himself confessed to the opposition’s weakness. By the end of the game, the Doves had given Soroti University a drubbing in all three sets.
On one occasion, the Doves established an 18-point difference between them and the Soroti-based institution of 25 to 7 points. This showed the severity of the situation.
Today, we could easily say that the Doves met their match due to the narrow margin between the wins. They went on to win the three straight sets still; therefore, it is fair to say that they are still and force to be reckoned with.
