The Uganda Christian University (UCU) Doves totally outclassed the Ndejje volleyball team to continue their promising start to the season.
The mouthwatering showpiece took place in the Old Kampala grounds and was well won by the doves, three sets to one.
Samuel David Lukaire, the sports administrator at UCU, was impressed with the performance but further noted that consistency is a key principle.
“The league is a marathon and so every win counts. The more you accumulate the necessary points, the higher the likelihood of winning the league, and so we are still pushing, “asserted Samuel.
Isaac Ogusul, one of the captains within the Doves outfit, decried the Doves’ sloppy start to the game and celebrated the team’s spirit as they came back into the game to bag a comfortable win.
“In the first set we were disorganized and so we were severely punished by the opponents who looked more comfortable,” said Isaac.
“We came back with the right mindset and confidence, swept them off their feet and accomplished our mission,” attested a stern-looking lsaac.
After a shocking defeat in their first game of the season against Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club, the Doves have not looked back, bagging victory after victory.
The first being against Sky Volleyball Club, which the Doves won with a maximum score of three to zero, and then Tigers Volleyball Club, which they clinched valiantly three sets to one.
The UCU Doves are next in action on the 16th of October against their long-term foes, Sports S volleyball club, which has always been a hard nut to crack.
“We are having two weeks of hard training and I can assure you there will be no jokes as for now. Serious training just like that, “asserted John Kokas, one of the players on the team.” They will see us,” assured John, as he could not withhold his urge.
With this, the game is beyond doubt building up to be a mouthwatering prospect as the two volleyball titans lock horns. Meanwhile, the Lady Doves also wrapped up the weekend in splendid fashion as they overran the SVA ladies volleyball club with a maximum set score of three to zero.
They continue the season on a perfect note, having won all their games so far and looking pretty much like a team to beat with an assertive demeanor of catch us if you can. The Lady Doves will play Nemo Stars on Sunday, hoping to continue their winning streak as they prepare for a promotion run back to serie A.
