The Uganda Christian University (UCU) volleyball teams, the Lady Doves and the Doves, kicked off their campaigns in style at this year’s East African University Games held at Maseno University, Kenya. Both teams secured 3-0 wins after their opponents, Kyambogo University, failed to show up for the matches.
The walkover victories put UCU in a strong position as they aim to establish dominance in the regional tournament. The games, which bring together universities from across East Africa, have seen intense competition as teams vie for top honors in various disciplines.
The Lady Doves will face a challenging encounter in their next match against Kenya’s KCA University, a team known for their strong performances on the court. Meanwhile, the UCU Doves (men’s team) are set to square off against the University of Dodoma from Tanzania, a fixture promising to deliver much action.
