UCU Mbale campus builds science laboratory

Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mbale University College has established a fully equipped science laboratory. Currently in the final building stages, the facility is expected to boost the teaching and learning of biology, chemistry, and physics subjects  that have long been hindered by limited resources. The college is hopeful that the laboratory will begin operating in the September 2025 intake, and applications in this field are now welcome.

For years, the absence of proper science facilities had forced many aspiring students to seek admission in other universities. The new laboratory is therefore set to attract more students interested in pursuing sciences.

Mr. George Malinga, the coordinator (Head of Department) of the Education Department, emphasised the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.

“Great minds are identified with potential and uniqueness. As the best private institution in the country, providing quality education to our clients is our top priority,” he said.

Mr. Vincent Kisenyi, the Principal of UCU Mbale University College, welcomed the development, noting that it answers a long standing demand from both students and parents. “This has been the college and community’s desire, and I am glad it has come to pass. The facility will strengthen parents’ confidence and create opportunities for students to pursue the science courses of their dreams,” Mr. Kisenyi said.

He further encouraged parents to entrust the institution with students who are passionate about science combinations such as chemistry, biology, and physics.

“We pledge to serve them diligently, and such milestones give the College pride and optimism for the future. This will also provide an opportunity for training teachers for the Church Of  Uganda founded schools in the region,” he added.
