As a response to curb the spread the corona virus, Uganda Christian University administration has organized a mass Covid-19 vaccination program that started yesterday, June 2. Both staff and students received Covid-19 jabs at the university clinic, Allan Galpin Health Center.

The top priority group for the vaccination exercise that started this morning is those getting the second dose of the vaccine. To get the Covid-19 jab, all members of the UCU community will only need a copy of their national identity card; the first vaccination card, for those getting the second dose.

According to Dr. Geoffrey Mulindwa the Director of medical services at UCU’s medical facility Allan Galpin, it is a privilege to have the Covid-19 vaccine exercise at the university premises.

Kenneth Agaba Amponda, the current Guild president of UCU, who also received his first dose today has urged students to come in numbers receive their Covid-19 jab.

“The process is not painful at all so I want to call out all students and members of the UCU community to come and get vaccinated.” The continuity of the vaccination process will however depend on the availability of the vaccine.
