    Livingstone 60–74 UCU  Canons

    (13‑14, 8‑20, 15‑22, 24‑18)

UCU Canons stretched their winning streak to three with a composed 74–60 victory over Livingstone on 23rd April at Lugogo Arena, tightening their grip on a National Basketball League campaign marking their third win in a row.

The Canons came out firing, ripping an 8‑0 opening burst, yet Livingstone’s Akris Ainomugisha (eight early points) clawed the hosts back to trail by just one at the first break, 14‑13. That was as close as it got.

In the  second-quarter, UCU conceded only eight points while Marvin Jesse Okurut poured in ten of his game-high 21 to open a 34–21 half-time cushion. With the defensive screws tightened, the Mukono side never looked back.

Okurut stayed hot after the interval, and a rim-to-rim layup from Diopa Durocher Lukusa punctuated a 22–15 third stanza, widening thepoint  gap to 20 (56–36).

Coach Jonathan Egau turned to his bench in the fourth, handing meaningful minutes to rare faces on the court Jonathan Kasilimbi, Tadeo Onyango, and Rabujjeh Matsiko

Okurut’s 21 led all scorers, while Jonathan Kasilimbi added ten useful points in support. Livingstone’s response came from Ainomugisha (12 pts) and a pair of 11-point efforts from Oscar Byomuhangi and Lukusa, but they never managed a serious run once UCU’s defence found its rhythm.

The Canons will be gearing up for their third home fixture against the JKL Dolphins in a quest to maintain their unbeaten streak at their home courts, UCU Mukono.
