UCU Lady Canons 73-44 KIU Rangers
The UCU Lady Canons showcased a dominant performance against the KIU Rangers, winning 73-44 in the first game of the best-of-five semi-final series in the 2024 FUBA National Basketball League.
Lady Canons set the tone early, leading 24–15 by the end of the first quarter. They continued to build on their lead throughout the game, showcasing their depth and resilience.
By halftime, UCU had extended their advantage to 40-28.
In the second half, the Lady Canons’ defense tightened even further, limiting the Rangers to just 16 points across the final two quarters.
The third quarter saw UCU outscore KIU 13-7, and they finished strong with a 20-9 run in the fourth quarter.
Nabayuga Aziida was a standout for the Lady Canons, a double-double with 20 points and grabbing 18 rebounds. Nanvubya Shakira was equally impressive, contributing 17 points and seven rebounds.
The Mukono side will face the KIU Rangers again this Sunday in the second game of the semi-final series as they look to continue their march towards the finals they last featured in the 2022 season, which they later won.
