The UCU Canons registered a 65-53 victory against the Namuwongo Blazers in the National Basketball League encounter played at Lugogo Arena on Friday evening.

The Canons compounded the Namuwongo Blazers, handing them their third loss in the ongoing campaign.
Canons’ victory was inspired by the thrilling performances of Peter Sifuma, Jimmy Otim, and Jerry Kayanga.

Sifuma led the Mukono-based side with a double-double, dropping 13 points and 15 rebounds.

The agile Otim was everywhere on the court with 17 points before Kayanga added 10 points to inspire the Canons to their fifth win in the seven games played thus far.

For the Blazers, none of the players scored double digits, as Michael Makiadi and Innocent Ochera dropped eight points each.

The Canons opened a seven-point lead at the end of the first quarter (20–13) before they extended the advantage to 15 points ahead of the long break.

Returning from the locker rooms, the Blazers led the third period (14-11) but were still trailing by 12 points.

In the final quarter, the Blazers dug deep to try and launch a comeback, reducing the deficit to four points (57-54) with three minutes to play, but the Canons held on and secured a 12-point victory to silence the loud crowd.

Note: For the photo check in the back end because there are many photos of the Canons, more for Joel Kayira.
