Uganda Christian University (UCU) is set to resume its highly anticipated inter-faculty football tournament in 2023 after a two-year hiatus due to the outbreak of COVID-19. The tournament, last played in 2019, will feature participation from multiple faculties across the university, including men’s football, women’s netball, and both men’s and women’s basketball.

Since her father’s passing, Namiiro’s mother has been the sole breadwinner, making it difficult for her to support Namiiro and her siblings. By January 28, 2023, Uganda had registered 170,328 cases of coronavirus. Of those, 3,630 had died. Florence Bwanika is part of that tragic statistic. Bwanika, a renowned veterinary doctor and academic, succumbed to the pandemic on January 17, 2021, the time Uganda was just shaking itself off the first wave of the pandemic. Uganda later had the second wave of the virus, which was more deadly.

Arthurton Kukundakwe lost both of his parents when he was just two years old and was taken in by his uncle Zaddock and wife Irene Tumuhimbise. Growing up in their care provided a nurturing and secure environment for him to pursue his dreams, culminating in his current position as the State Attorney of Nakaseke District in Central Uganda.
