On January 7, 2020, Uganda Christian University (UCU) awarded semester scholarships to 10 students in appreciation of their outstanding academic performance. While handing out the Vice Chancellor’s Awards to the students, former Vice Chancellor John Senyonyi said the gesture was a motivation for excellence at the university.

A red-dirty Sino truck came speeding on the dry tarmac road as it headed for the Jinja Highway. Dust covered the atmosphere for about 35 seconds, like an early morning fog. No one would see the other side of the road.

It is estimated that per capita, the generation of garbage is one kilogram per day, making it 1500 tons of garbage per year. Despite the annual budget of about 20 billion shillings, the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) can only dispose of 40-50 percent of this.

As Uganda Christian University (UCU) celebrates its silver jubilee this year, the Fine Art Department under the Faculty of Engineering, Design and Technology seeks to connect young people to antiquity through art. 

Asked how she felt about this win, Ndyemanya said this was a turning point in her life. “This is a huge opportunity for me. It reminds me to be intentional with everything and that there is a future. I am so grateful to God for this opportunity, “she added.
