Casablanca Bar in Mukono has been closed until further notice, a notice on its gate says. This comes after Trevor Byandala, a First year Business student of Uganda Christian University (UCU), allegedly lost his life in the bar last month.
Details about the closure of Casablanca are still not clear.
The proprietor of the bar, Mr. Tesfalem Gherathu confirmed its closure but declined to inform us why that was the case. “There’s something ongoing but I’ll inform you later, give me like four days”, he said.
Investigations are still ongoing to find out the circumstances under which Byandala passed on. A number of arrests have also been made including that of the bar manager, and Alvin Charles Mulaangwa aka Young Pablo, a musician and student at UCU.
