As a journalist, I am not outside this reflection. Our profession is meant to speak uncomfortable truths. But we do not always succeed. The pressures are real from economic to political and sometimes to personal fears.

The event was held to welcome the first-year students to the School of Law and UCU community at large and to familiarise them with multiple systems within the university, such as UCU’s digital library and the Alpha student portal. It was organised as a joint effort between the School of Law and the UCU Law Society.

In 2022, Jessica Hughes, a USA missionary serving at Uganda Christian University (UCU), Mukono, found herself in every academic’s dilemma of trying to condense a voluminous thesis into a journal article. For Hughes’ case, she was adapting a 300-plus-page thesis into an article for Missionalia, a journal of the Southern African Missiological Society. 

Uganda Christian University’s (UCU) Dean of the School of Dentistry (SoD),  James Magara, was among the 10 pioneer students getting a Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Makerere University in 1988. Thirty years later, in 2018, Magara’s son, David Magara, was among the pioneer students of UCU’s Bachelor of Dental Surgery program. 

Most employers are hesitant to hire university graduates because many have theoretical knowledge but lack practical experience. This is because of the extensive theoretical classes students have throughout their study time. The partnership between Uganda Christian University (UCU) and MTN Uganda seeks to educate and prepare UCU BSCS students.

On February 26th, 2022, an historic event took place at Bishop Senior Secondary School Mukono’s playground as Rev. Canon Enos Kitto Kagodo was installed as the fifth Bishop of Mukono Diocese. The occasion was witnessed by thousands of believers who were present to witness the transition of power from the outgoing bishop, Rt. Rev. James William Ssebagala, who had reached the retirement age of 65 the previous year.
