Missing an exam is one of the most unsettling experiences a student can face. For me, it wasn’t just a test; it was the final step in a journey I had planned meticulously like any other student would. I had always set educational goals for myself, worked hard to achieve them on time, and was confident as I began my final semester of Uganda Christian University’s Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communication programme.
Attendance is visible, but preparation is not. Lecturers see who shows up, but they do not see who revised beforehand, who skimmed notes at midnight, or who ignored the course outline entirely.
When we took office in November 2024, we committed to a four-point program: tuition, student life, security, and accountability. By January 2025, after appointing our ministers and various office bearers, we began to work as one team, united by a shared promise to make our government the most impactful yet
This is a month when our children will sit for end-of-term exams in primary and secondary schools. This is also happening in some higher learning institutions that are doing their end-of-semester examinations this month.
Fossil fuels and electricity have helped to create the modern world by driving up farm productivity and thereby drastically reducing agricultural populations; mechanizing industrial production and letting the labor force move into the service sector; making megacities and conurbations a reality; globalizing trade and culture; and imposing many structural uniformities onto the diverse world.
His excellence Timothy Ddumba, UCU guild president, took an oath to uphold the guild constitution and serve the university and student community. UCU students have expressed their hopes for the incoming guild government.
We thank God that our children are reporting back to school next week. There are some schools that have already reported, but the majority of schools have been waiting for the official date.
On January 9th, 2023, at 1:54 a.m., a shocking video of teenage girls beating and flogging a friend went viral. The girls screamed “man snatcher” while pulling her braids, pouring soapy water on her, and beating their undressed friend on the floor outside the house in the video.
Setting targets is one way to keep yourself focused on what you aim to achieve. You could have had targets or set goals for 2022, some of which were successful and some of which were not. A new year means another chance to achieve your life goals. Your targets should reflect who you are, what you live for, what you intend to accomplish this year, and where you plan to be.
