    AFCON 2023: Result

    Egypt 2-2 Ghana

Egypt and Nigeria shared spoils in a 2-2 draw during the ongoing AFCON tournament at Felix Houphouet Boigony Stadium on Thursday.

Egypt came from down twice to ensure they picked a point away from a lousy Ghana side on the night.

It was end-to-end action that could go either way. The game started off on a slow note but went on to open up in the first stanza as goals were pouring in.

Mohammed Kudus fired Ghana ahead with a left-footed, strong effort from the edge of the box before the end of the first stanza.

Midway through the second half, Omar Marmoush was alert to punish Ghana thanks to a pour-back pass by Inaki Williams, who was called off the field minutes later.

But just minutes later, Kudus restores Ghana’s lead in the 71st minute with yet another curler after being set up by roving left back Denis Odoi.

Once again, Osman Bukari gave away possessions to Trezeguet, whose cutback was emphatically finished by Mostafa Muhamed to restore parity.

The results keep a stiff and frozen mood in each team’s camp, as they will badly need victories in the final group games if they are to go further.

The other group B encounter happens today as Cape Verde take on Mozambique in the early encounter that will kick off at 5 PM.
