Elugant was over the moon after earning his UCU Canons debut in the 68-52 victory in the National Basketball League at Lugogo Arena.
After the final whistle, Elugant expressed his huge dream as he revealed that he longs to guide the Canons to glory one day.
The small forward contributed only two points on the day after spending less than five minutes on the floor.
“I long to win titles with this team because it has always produced the country’s best talent,” he revealed.
“I am so blessed. Its really an honor for him (coach Nicholas Natuhereza) to show faith in me but also have the backing of my teammates,” he added.
“My teammates have been great, allowing me to step on the floor and prove what I can bring to the team. Looking forward to many more games.”
It’s always a nervous moment for any athlete going into their debut, and Elungant equally agrees that it was exciting and nerve-breaking at the same time.
“It was a moment of mixed feelings. It was both exciting and nerve-breaking at the same time. Going forward, I am looking at getting better and improving gradually,” he concluded.
The Canons concluded the first round in fifth place with 18 points gathered in 11 games.
Going into the second round of the ongoing campaign, the Canons will lock horns with the third-placed KIU Titans at Lugogo Arena.
