    St. Noa WFC 1-0 UCU

Uganda Christian University’s (UCU) Lady Cardinals suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to St. Noa Girls Zana in their second game of the FUFA Women’s Elite League on November 9, 2024, in Kabojja.

The Lady Cardinals started brightly, creating two clear chances in the first 30 minutes. Captain Catherine Nakiridde’s attempt was blocked, while striker Jovia Nakagolo’s shot was saved by the St. Noa goalkeeper.

Visitors, UCU suffered a blow when midfielder Mercy Amoding was subbed for Harima Kanyago in the early minutes of the game.

However, the hosts found the breakthrough just before halftime, with Sylvia Kabene netting what proved to be the decisive goal.

Despite UCU’s persistent efforts in the second half, they were repeatedly denied by St. Noa’s goalkeeper, who ensured the visitors left without a point.

The loss means UCU misses a chance to top the Elizabeth Group of the FUFA Women’s Elite League after a 2-0 win against URA Kawempe Muslim Junior Team in their first match.

The Lady Cardinals will now regroup as they prepare to host Isra Academy at their home ground in Mukono for their next fixture.
