Look pretty in a pinafore dress

    What is a pinafore dress?

You have probably seen girls wearing sleeveless dresses that are usually low-necked, fastened in the back, and worn as an apron or a dress. A long- or short-sleeved shirt can be worn underneath to make a complete fashion statement.

They were widely famous in the 1800s, when they were mainly worn over a dress, blouse, or jumper and were collarless. During that time, they were child garments worn to protect the girls’ dresses from getting dirty, but over the years, they have become more than just garments for protection from dirt but a fashion piece, and women are rocking that look.

    How to Style Pinafore Dresses

With a variety of materials ranging from leather, denim, and cotton, among others, the apron-like garments are the perfect design to add to your unique wardrobe. They also come in a number of colors and look nice on all sizes, whether small, medium, or plus-size. You can style it in any way and still look trendy.

For one to look stylish and trendy in this outfit, you can pair the pinafore with a button-up shirt, a blouse, or even a sweater. Then wear a pair of heels,  sneakers,  flats, or boots in relation to the weather that day, and you will make a great fashion statement.

To have a better look, one can opt for pinafores that have a pattern added to them with a plain shirt or blouse underneath, so as to achieve the look.

You should avoid wearing very brightly colored shirts with a brightly colored pinafore. Most importantly, ensure that the dress fits you right at the waist; otherwise, it will begin to look loose and unflattering if it does not fit well.

A great example of this fashion trend is the corduroy pinafore. With a rust orange corduroy pinafore, one can pair it with a white blouse, together with some ribbon details at the front. Then add a cross-body bag as well as black boots to finally complete the look.

As for the turtleneck shirt, you can opt for a white one and pair it with a mint-colored pinafore and brown boots. Add just some minimal jewelry, like a necklace and rings, and finally go for a big bag to finally complete this look.
