A short movie titled “My Degree” has been released by journalism students from Uganda Christian University (UCU). The film is a brief, captivating work whose central message emphasizes the value of humility in moral character and virtue, both of which are lacking in the majority of university students.
The movie premiering event happened at the Nkoyoyo Hall. The premiere was graced with performances from the students.
“My Degree” is a movie directed and produced by students in conjunction with the School of Journalism.
John Semakula, the head of the department undergraduate at the School of Journalism, Media, and Communication at UCU, has applauded the students for implementing what they are taught in class.
“We, as the school of Journalism, Media, and Communication, our main contributions are skills-training the students, encouraging them and providing equipment,” said Semakula.
He added that the school of Journalism, Media, and Communication prides itself on equipping our students with practical skills in line with our curriculum.
Emmanuel Ilongole, the producer of the movie, was glad to be part of the production. He says he learned a lot of things during the production process.
“I have gained skills like audio balancing, being consistent, working hard, and being able to work with other people. He therefore gives credit to UCU Focus Television for giving people such a platform where they can showcase their talents and skills, “said Ilongole.
Brian Kabogozza, the director of the movie was excited about the milestone the team had achieved. He congratulated the production team for getting this success.
“I’m glad that we have successful produced this “My Degree”. This is a start to many projects to come. In 2023, we set to a number of movies,” said Kabogozza.
The movie was directed by Brian Kabogozza, a third-year student of Journalism, Media, and Communication. It was produced by Emmanuel Illugole.
