    UCU 5-0 Isra Academy

    By Michael Ainomugisha

The UCU Lady Cardinals delivered a statement performance, thrashing Isra Academy 5-0 in their FUFA Women’s Elite League encounter at their home ground in Mukono.

The victory marked a strong comeback after their narrow 1-0 loss to St Noa Girls in the previous match.

Bridget Mbwali opened the scoring early in the first half, capitalising on a well-placed assist from striker Jovia Nakagolo to head it in the back of the net.

Nakagolo then took centre stage, scoring twice in quick succession to give UCU a commanding 3-0 lead by halftime.

In the second half, Nakagolo’s dominance continued as she added two more goals to her tally, completing an impressive four-goal haul.

This win moves the Lady Cardinals to six points with six goals scored across three games. Head coach Colline Ahumuza commended the team’s resilience and determination to bounce back, describing the victory as a significant confidence boost.

Next, the UCU Lady Cardinals will travel to Fort Portal, where they will take on She Geme in their fourth league game.
