    AFCON: Group F Results

    Morocco 3-0 Tanzania

    DRC 1-1 Zambia

Morocco kicked off the ongoing AFCON campaign with a well-deserved 3-0 victory against 10-man Tanzania at Stade Laurent Pokou Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Paul Roman Saiss, Azzedine Ounahi, and Youssef En-Nesyri scored the three goals as Morocco whitewashed Tanzania.

It was a dominant show from Africa’s ranked number-one country, as they took Tanzania to school in all aspects of the game.

Morocco nearly took the lead through En-Nesyri, but the forward’s last touch off Hakim Ziyech’s delivery sailed wide of the frame.

The Atlas Lions finally took the lead in the 30th minute through Saiss. Ziyech’s freekick was too hot for Tanzania’s custodian, Aishi Manula, to handle, thus palming it into Sass’s path, who was quick to convert.

With 20 minutes to play, the Taifa Stars were reduced to 10 men after Novatus Miroshi was sent off due to an uncalled-for challenge.

Seven minutes later, Ounahi was set up in front of goal before he slotted the ball in the bottom left corner.

In the 80th minute, Hakimi Achraf set up En-Nesyri, who calmly collected the ball before he fired home to seal the emphatic victory.

The victory takes Morocco to the top of the Group F log. Next on the menu, the Atlas Lions will face DR Congo on Monday.
