    NBL 24: UCU Lady Canons humble Kampala University

    UCU Lady Canons secured a well-deserved 105-22 victory against Kampala University in the National Basketball League at YMCA Court, Wandegeya.

    The Lady Canons dropped a century in a one-sided game as Kampala University struggled to keep foot in the game.

    Lady Canons opened up a commanding 23-point lead before they extended the gap to 29 points going into the long break.

    Millicent Otieno’s long shot sealed off the third quarter as Kampala University Ladies trailed by 52 points (17-69).

    Aziida Nabayunga pulled off one from down two at the end of the fourth quarter as the Mukono-based side registered an 83-point victory.

    Otieno led UCU’s scoring chart with 29 points as Tracy Namugosa (18), Sylvia Nakituuka (18), Shakirah Nanvubya (11) and Martina Anyango (10) followed in double figures.

    On the other hand, Victoria Nalwanga led Kampala University’s scoring chart with seven points as none of the players reached double digits.

    In the other game played on the weekend, UCU Lady Cardinals secured a 65-51 victory against the YMCA Lady Hamstars.

    In that game, Bridget Aber posted a double-double dropping 14 points and pulling down 15 rebounds.
