After a 3-2 deficit against Ndejje Elites, Uganda Christian University (UCU), Lady Doves delivered a commanding performance on Sunday, defeating UPDF 3-0 to bounce back to winning ways.

In the National Volleyball League match held at the Lugogo Indoor Arena, UCU outlasted their opponents in tightly contested opening sets and ended in straight sets with scores of 28-26, 26-24, and 25-15, respectively.

UPDF put up a strong fight in the first two sets, pushing UCU to the limit.

However, the Lady Doves displayed composure under pressure, edging their opponents in crucial moments to secure both sets. The third set was a one-sided affair, with UCU dominating from start to finish to seal their victory.

The win reinforces UCU’s strength in the league as they continue their quest for the playoffs and championship. Their teamwork and resilience were evident throughout the match, as they capitalised on key moments to outplay a determined UPDF side.

“Our aim was to get maximum points, which we are grateful to have achieved,” said UCU Head Coach Juma Osunge.

With this victory, UCU is set to face KCCA in their next match on Sunday, February 9.
