Uganda Christian University (UCU) had a strong showing in the National Volleyball League (NVL) on Saturday, March 22, at the Sport-S Grounds in Nsambya, with both the UCU Doves and UCU Lady Doves picking up crucial victories.

The UCU Doves defeated Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) 3-1 in the men’s Serie A, bouncing back from a third-set slip to close out the match.

UCU took the first two sets, 25-18 and 25-21, before KAVC responded with a dominant 25-15 win in the third. The Doves regrouped in the fourth set, securing a 25-17 victory to seal the match.

This win comes after a 3-0 loss against Sport-S on 15th March a win for UCU was crucial towards advancing to playoff contention.

Earlier in the day, the UCU Lady Doves cruised to a 3-0 win over Nemostars in the women’s Serie A.

The Lady Doves took the first set 25-22 and built momentum in the second with a 25-19 win. They wrapped up the match in straight sets with another 25-22 victory in the third.

With the win, UCU lady doves remain in contention for playoff  spots in the Women’s Serie A despite a setback on 15th March against VVC at Sport-S grounds in NSAMBYA
