UCU Angels qualify for semi-finals of netball category after defeating St. Lawrence University, (SLAU) netball team following their 4-quarter star performance in quarter finals of the 20th Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) Games 2025 edition.

UCU Angels once more stormed with a strong performance by edging SLAU four quarters win to nil. They won the first quarter 08- 05, second quarter 14- 09, third quarter 22- 12 and the fourth and final quarter 31- 16.

The team that started and played the first two quarters in low rhythm hincaped their energy and momentum and thunderstormed SLAU in the third and the final quarter.

As usual, star players including Shamirah Ayikulu, Josephine Bakhita, Christine Anaro, Ronah Lakica, and Patricia Arago were fundamental in securing today’s critical win for UCU Angels as they continued to prove their worth amidst chants from the fan base watching the game.

UCU Angels Assistant Coach Mishali Ssebuliba said that the game was tough in the first two quarters, and we had to bounce back in the final two quarters and prove our which did by producing an ecstatic and interesting game.

The win confirmed a semi-final slot for UCU Angels, scheduled for 3 pm today against Makerere University netball team, and for SLAU a chance to pack their bags early and go home.
