Governments come and go, but the people they serve always believe in them and have high hopes for them. The Uganda Christian University (UCU) guild government was sworn in on January 24, 2023, at an event officiated by the vice chancellor, Assoc. Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi.
His excellence Timothy Ddumba, UCU guild president, took an oath to uphold the guild constitution and serve the university and student community. UCU students have expressed their hopes for the incoming guild government.

I don’t expect much from the 25th Guild government because it only has a year to accomplish anything; however, I still hopes that they improve library services.
In most cases, you can go there and ask for books; they may not be available, and sometimes they will tell you that the books are done. There are a few copies in the library; maybe they can add more books to the library.
I expect the guild government to address the issue of missing marks because, with missing marks, one cannot graduate.

I appreciate the university for admitting me to such a wonderful school. The guild government should maintain peace because the school is truly peaceful, and they should encourage students from different backgrounds and countries to unite.
Most of us here are international students and do not know how to communicate with each other; I wish the guild government could work on that.

I expect the incoming guild government to improve the social environment because it is not conducive. According to him, people do not greet and are not social.
I call upon the guild government to look into the ladies’ dress code because, the ladies sometimes dress inappropriately, They should also look into the renovation of PDR and work on their water and shower systems.

I expect to see more effort from the incoming guild government in regards to academics. There are so many students from the School of Law who have missing marks that are not being worked on, yet they keep promising to work on them.
I hope the forthcoming cabinet will work hand in hand to see to it that each and every student in the School of Law can access their marks.

I’m excited for the incoming guild government. I’m not a politician, but my hopes and expectations are for the guild government to deliver the best to the students because he has faith in them.
