Uganda Christian University swimmers posted steady performances during the morning session of the AUUS Games swimming competition, with several athletes registering competitive times across freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, backstroke, and relay events at the UCU pool.

In the women’s 400m freestyle, Esther Atto finished fourth with a time of 6:25.17, marking UCU’s first appearance on the results sheet. She returned later in the women’s 200m individual medley, placing fourth again with a time of 3:24.63, showing consistency across endurance and technical races.

Ryan Asabo led UCU’s men in the pool. He placed third in the men’s 400m freestyle with a time of 6:00.33 and followed it up with another third-place finish in the men’s 200m individual medley, clocking 2:53.13. Asabo also competed in the men’s 100m backstroke, finishing fourth in 1:19.50.

UCU also featured strongly in the sprint events. In the women’s 50m breaststroke, Beyonce Sendege finished fifth with a time of 48.76, while Darren Semugooma placed fifth in the men’s 50m breaststroke, touching the wall at 38.64. Semugooma later returned for the men’s 50m butterfly, finishing seventh.

Esther Atto added another solid result in the women’s 100m freestyle, finishing third with a time of 1:13.19. In the women’s 50m butterfly, she placed third again, reinforcing her role as one of UCU’s key swimmers in the morning session.

UCU also competed in the relay events. The men’s 200m medley relay team of Darren Semugooma, Emanzi Rujumba, Ian Victor Ampulire, and Ryan Asabo finished fourth with a time of 2:48.38. The women’s medley relay team did not finish their race.
