UCU Lady Canons head into Game Three of the 2026 National Basketball League Finals against JT Lady Jaguars with a 2–0 series lead, following their 65–61 victory, and the chance to move within one win of their first league title since 2022.

UCU’s first women’s NBL title came in 2008, followed by championships in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2022. The return to the finals gives the Lady Canons an opportunity to add another chapter to a programme that has remained a consistent presence in Ugandan women’s basketball.

The victory gives UCU Canons their fifth consecutive third-place finish in the NBL playoffs, having also claimed bronze in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

UCU Lady Canons now turn their attention to the finals against the JT Lady Jaguars as they seek to extend their record in the Women’s National Basketball League.

Coach Kiguyi Emmanuel and Samuel Lukaire’s side must now win Game Three to keep their season alive, while Namuwongo will be aiming to complete the series and book another appearance in the National Basketball League Finals.
