Given the enduring experience of the past two virtual graduation events of 2020 and 2021, Uganda Christian University (UCU) will this year conduct a mass graduation as a physical-comeback for all its campuses.

The different campuses include Bishop Barham University-Kabaale, UCU Mbale University College, Kampala, and Arua campuses, which will gather on July 29th at the main campus in Mukono to celebrate the university’s 23rd graduation celebration.

This graduation will produce over 2000 graduands from 60 different programs.

Christa Oluka, the university’s Director for Academic Affairs, noted in an interview that 21 of these programs are at the postgraduate level.

She added that this event, which is also this year’s first part of graduation ceremonies, will produce 55% (1558) females out of the 2106 total number of graduands.

“This graduation is more special because we are celebrating 25 years of UCU, and our crowning graduation will be in October,” said Oluka.

On that note, Paul Wasswa, the university chaplain, noted in a press conference that these graduands have gone through the two key points of a student’s life at university.

“We know that whatever they are going to do in their lives of work, they will be missionaries of Christ,” said the Wasswa.

Statistics have shown that 55 will graduate with first class degrees, and the event will be graced by Bishop Fredrick Sheldon Mwesigwa as the guest of honor.
